Card Pack Details

Your guide to the exact odds, drop rates, and mechanics behind every pack in Cup Heroes.

The Golden Rules

Your odds depend directly on your own collection.

A pack never gives you a card you have already maxed out, and hero cards drop only for heroes you have unlocked. The chance of any single card moves with how far you are into the game.

No Maxed Duplicates

A pack will never give you a card you have already maxed. If every hero card is maxed, you'll receive guaranteed Ascension Shards instead.

Unlocked Only

Hero cards only drop for heroes you have successfully unlocked.

Progression Gates

Pets, Food, and Gear do not enter your loot pool until you complete their respective in-game tutorials.

Hero Unique Packs & Ascensions

A hero unique pack belongs to one hero and gives only that hero's cards. Important: These packs will only drop cards for heroes you have already unlocked.

The drop rates for specific rarities evolve dynamically based on the cards' level and your collection.

Ascension Shards Pity Timer

A shard drops on a straight 5% roll, or automatically if the hero's last four packs gave none. You can never go more than five packs without one. Over the long run that works out to 22.1% of packs.

If every one of that hero's cards is maxed, ascension shards drop in every pack instead (44% chance for 1 shard, 35% for 2 shards, 1% for 5 shards).

The Epic Counter

Main cards use a rarity table that shifts every time you do not get an epic card. An epic main card resets the counter to zero.

Rarity1st pull2nd3rd4th and beyond
Common 9% 7% 5% 1.8%
Rare 40% 33% 23% 10.5%

Pack Tiers & Upgrades

When you open a numbered pack (Standard - Mythic), the game rolls to see if it promotes to a higher tier. A pack can only move up. If it promotes, all slots, duplicate boosts, and bonus items use the new upgraded tier.

Starts As Standard Final Rare Final Epic Final Royal Final Mythic Final
Standard 67.36% 21.63% 9.39% 1.51% 0.11%
Rare — 62.06% 30.38% 7.27% 0.29%
Epic — — 65.84% 33.64% 0.53%
Royal — — — 99.84% 0.16%

Cards Per Pack

The number of card slots a pack yields scales dynamically based on how many distinct cards you have unlocked in your entire collection.

Pack Type 45–218 Unlocked 248–275 Unlocked 363+ Unlocked
Standard 1–2 1–2 1–2
Rare 1–2 1–3 1–3

Card Drop Mechanics

Note: These card drop mechanics apply only to non-hero packs (generic packs).

Every card slot is filled on its own through a "raffle" system. A lower level card means more tickets, so what you have least of comes up most.

Step 1: Hero vs Shared Card

There is a 60% chance for a Hero card and a 40% chance for a Shared card, assuming both pools have unmaxed cards available.

Step 2: Which Hero

Unlocked heroes needing upgrades are sorted by level into three buckets. The bucket is picked by weight, then the hero inside it.

BucketWeightShareWho is in it
Bottom 40 40% Lowest-level heroes
Middle 35 35% The middle third
Top 25 25% Highest-level heroes

Step 3: Which Rarity

RarityWeightShare
Common 7 7%
Rare 39 39%
Epic 54 54%
Card Duplicates & Coin Conversions

A card slot gives you a slice of what the card needs for its next level. Higher tiers add flat percentage points on top.

Shared Card LevelBandHero Card LevelBand
1–11 80–90% 1–2 80–90%
12–30 70–80% 3–4 70–80%
51–61 55–65% 7–8 50–60%
Boosts: Epic = +5% | Royal = +25% | Mythic = +50%

Coins per Duplicate

For every duplicate card you receive, you also get coins. The amount of coins varies based on the duplicate's rarity type (as shown in the table below). Common cards pay the most per duplicate and Epic the least.

Card TypeDuplicates to Next LevelCoins per DuplicateTotal Coins Example
Shared Common Lvl 1 20 5 80–90
Hero Common Lvl 1 20 13 208–234
Hero Epic Lvl 1 60 5 240–270
Guild Bonus: Packs grant bonus coins based on your Guild level. Level 52 grants +8%, and Level 100 grants +15%.
Bonus Items & Gear Drops

Most packs roll extra reward slots. If the pool of available items exhausts, the slot acts as a safety net and grants 5-10 Diamonds instead of being empty.
